A Son's Love

Forty-eight hours after hurricane Helene devastated parts of North Carolina, Sam Perkins heard nothing from his parents - and was very worried. They lived in the mountains about 1 hour away from Asheville which had been hit very hard.
He decided to go find them but faced mountains of obstacles along the way.
He finally decided to park his car and hike the rest of the way - 11 miles and 2,200 feet high. It took him 3 hours but he finally reached his parents.
Isn't that a wonderful example of a son's love for his parents?
Are your parents still alive? Do you keep in touch often?

Sadly my parents are both deceased but I would climb mountains to reach them too if the circumstances were the same as Sams parents.
The hurricane really devastated that part of N. Carolina and it's so sad to see what they are showing on the news. I'm glad he found his parents safe.

That is awesome. I would do the same for mine. I currently live with my parents and as much as I love them, I really need my own place.

It was good that all worked out well, and he found his parents, but I hope that he told someone what he was doing, and where he was going, as he might have got into trouble, crossing such mountains on foot.
