Finished watercolour paintings - Part Two.

This is the second of my watercolour paintings for the London Art Course. This one was supposed to have more detail in it. Again I did most of it last week, and just did a bit to it to finish it today. Last week I started with the sky leaving white areas to represent clouds. Then I did the far hill, then the far trees and bushes, then nearer trees and bushes, then foreground trees and bushes, then the houses and the cliffs on the right. Today all I needed to do was adjust some of the windows and doors on the houses, put grey on a few of the white houses to make sure they didn't just look stark white, then do the road and the posts of the fence on the right. So I did the windows and doors first, then let them dry before painting the white houses a very light grey. I let that dry. When that was dry I did the road. I did a streak of yellow ochre in the middle, then painted the rest of the road light grey. When the paint was not sopping wet, but not yet dry, I sprinkled salt on it. This is to give it some texture. When that was dry I painted in the fence posts on the right. Then I called it finished. When it was all dry I brushed off the salt into the bin. So those are the two watercolour paintings that I did for the London Art Course today. I've also done a flower painting today because I had a lot of time to spare, but I'll show you that later!
