Along with a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer in Gene Pitney, today you’ll get a two-for-one Country Music Hall of Fame song, since it’s a duet. A couple of people you’ve definitely heard of, even if you don’t know anything about country music. Here’s today’s song. Lead Me On - Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty We need a distraction. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty. (Family Guy) I don’t watch Family Guy, but those Conway Twitty distractions are hilarious. Conway and Loretta. Loretta and Conway. However you want to put it, the end results were great! They had a string of duet hits in the late 60s and early 70s, all while maintaining individual solo careers that would make anybody jealous. Ah, those were the days. And this ranks among my favorites of their songs together, a great midtempo song with some killer steel guitar. I wasn’t much on Twitty’s solo stuff (I do like “Hello, Darlin’” but the thought of “You’ve Never Been This Far Before” makes me puke), but he was a legend. So was Loretta.
