I was almost fainting.

I was mylotting and posponed breakfast. I had to go to the kitchen, would see the soiled dishes and chores would begin. So I stayed in bed mylotting as time went by. But suddenly I felt a bit dizy. JEZZUZZ! I´d have to eat something quickly! So I got up, turned on the heater, washed a pot where I put to boil 2 potatoes, 1 carrot and 2 eggs. And while they started to boil I washed part of the dishes and cut in half the 2 last pieces of cake I had. I just ate one of the pieces and my life changed. In must be true at at a certain age, you must help your body maintain the right amount of sugar you need. When I was a child my mom bought sugar in small beautiful squares. She kept the box in the kitchen in a shelf that I could reach easily. Whenever I went to the kitchen I took a couple of pieces. Up to this day I don´t understand why my mom did not leave them higher. Same thing happened with condensated milk. Do you have some memories of yummy things that you stole when you were a kid? I´m looking forward to your answers.

I remember when we had a milk cow mom was often mad at me. She wanted to skim the cream to make butter. But many times I was shaking it back up about the time it was ready

@wolfgirl569 I´m quite sure that children know better when they are very young. Only they can´t help it. I´m almost 80 and I still do things I shouldn´t.

I don't remember any snacks around at our house. Today there are times when I get nauseous and weak when I need to eat. Have a good day.

We did not use to eat snacks when I was a child. And I don´t remember of anyone eating them then.

@LindaOHio Same in my house. We had a tiny table with chair (not very elegant of expensive) where we had to sit to paint and cut with out scissors.

@marguicha There were never any snacks around; and my mother kept a pristine house. There wasn't a newspaper or pencil or anything lying around.

My mom will always leave different biscuits in our rice storage, so whenever I get hungry or after playing outside I can easily run back to the house and eat. I really love those biscuits and cookies.

Condensed milk! Isn't that just the best? I use it in a slice I make and pinch a bit for me.

The next time you see your doctor, you should ask them to check your sugar count. The only thing I can really think of that I wanted as a child bad enough to steal it, was the heel off of the homemade bread when Grandma took it out of the oven. A bit of butter, and then pure heaven!

I will ask Humberto to give me a prescription so that I also check my sugar levels when I go for blood tests.

@marguicha I would make it a priority to get it checked out very soon, Marga.

It didn't count as stealing as long as it was in "my" home. At least for me. Again, I was a chubby kid, so my mother always made sure to hide delicious food or place it out of my reach. Most of the time, she'd simply hide it and the "treasure hunt" would begin. It was fun even if she was very good at it, so I couldn't find the food most of the time.

I use often the word "steal" even though I know nobody did. I remember when Leticia worked here and she´d come on Monday mornings. I´d say "who stole so and so?" and Leticia answered Where did you last see it? She always found all I had put away in "intelligent" places and forgotten about it.

My parents always seemed to have friends coming and going, These friends often brought chocolate boxes and if mom forgot she left a box or two on tables in the living room where I could get to them, She did not want me eating too many sweets, She discovered my chocolate swiping when a friend arrived and she offered her chocolates to find very little in a box, From that time on she put them on a shelf and I had to ask to get some,

It takes some time for parents to discover that children are intelligent.

you should keep something water and sweets or snacks nearby in case you feel dizzy like that again. i mean, that's what i would do i don't remember stealing anything like that when i was a kid. probably because we were growing up in different circumstances. my mom used to tell me how she and her sibling would "steal" cookies from cabinet that's supposed to be "for guests"
