Caramel bread pudding

This is one of my favourite desserts. Bread that is not used comes in handy to make my caramel bread pudding.
I first prepare a vessel coated with caramel. This is done by lining the bottom of the vessel with sugar and heating it. The sugar melts and turns colour.
Eggs are beaten and added to the milk that has enough sugar with a touch of nugmeg powder. Bread pieces are thrown in randomly and well soaked in the milk.. A few raisins and cashew nuts are also added. This mixture is then steamed.
I have it for breakfast sometimes.

May be you do not throw in bread pieces at random. I tried this after my niece gave me the idea It tastes so good.
I just edited mentioning that I add raisins and cashewnuts.

This sounds very much like our bread and butter pudding. It’s a great way of using up leftover bread and delicious to boot.
