Thank you Marie. I think I know what happened. Anita left the leftovers out of the fridge and I only saw it much later.

I wondered right away that you may have food poisoning. Rice is known for that if it isn't properly stored right away, add in seafood and leave it sit out, you are lucky you feel better--it tastes so good, but it's just lethal if it's sitting out too long.
I don't like to throw any food away, for sure. But if you are ever in doubt and you have had food poisoning, you won't hesitate--if you aren't sure, ever, just toss it.

@MarieCoyle I always put everything in the fridge at once. And worse still now because it is warm out.

I had cooked a rice dish that included a can of seafood. When I went to the kitchen after Anita went away I discovered that she had left the leftovers out of the fridge. I then placed it there but maybe it was too late.
