My ex-husband and I haven't been together for probably about 30 years. There was a time when we helped my daughter with her daughter. He adored my granddaughter and she him.
My ex happened to pick her up from school one day. This was when she was probably about 8 or 9 and in the 2nd or 3rd grade. The teacher had a stack of her paperwork and a picture she had drawn for him to pick up. My ex was very into art and was quick to check out her picture. It was of her family. Her mom, her grandmother, and my ex. But, instead of two women and a man being portrayed in the picture my granddaughter had drawn three women.
Oh, my goodness, he was mad. When I got home that day, I heard about it. His ego wouldn't let him see a picture a little girl had drawn. No. This was a real blow to his ego.
I will never forget how mad and unhedged he was.

I would have just loved the picture for what it was. Lovingly drawn

Indeed. But the male ego doesn't see that.

People choose to get angry over the smallest things.

She drew him that way and he didn't like it. His ego all the way.

@much2say ......You'd think he'd realize she was only a young girl. He was extremely insecure.

Your story proves that relationship once built die hard and that was what your ex was experiencing.
