Doe, a deer

Or in my case this morning it was Buck a deer. A lovely three point buck crossed the highway in front of my car. I have seen lots of does and fawns but never a buck crossing in front of me. Driving to work and other times I concentrate on looking for wildlife to the right of me on the road. I guess because if they step onto the road they are in my lane of traffic first thing. Mr. Buck came across the two lane highway from the left. I had time to pay attention, because it was already light. It was a peaceful encounter and I was so glad to see him, rather than to hit him. He and I both had a good day.

Sometimes at night, it seems like they come out of nowhere. I'm glad you did not ''meet'' him and you are both safe.

Two years ago in November a deer and I met. We both kept moving, but I had to replace the car.

You and me both. It is sad to see animal carcasses on the road. Also sad to see disabled cars.

Deer and kangaroo can appear so quickly. I'm glad you had time to react safely.

I would hate to have to watch for kangaroo. I imagine you can end up with the same effect.

That is usually what I encounter, although once when I was a bus driver many years ago I had eleven come running out of a pasture, across the driveway and into the woods where I was picking up a couple of students.

I'm so glad you didn't have an accident! Now you know of course that I'll have that song from The Sound of Music in my head all day, lol.

I know, titles like that are kind of tricky for musical people. I often have songs just streaming through my mind.

@GardenGerty I have songs ALWAYS in my head. It's usually okay if I like the song, but that's not always the case. I long for silence which is funny because I 'm almost deaf!
