Cat that was stranded in a tree rescued by animal rescuers in Washington

Employees of the Adams County Pet Rescue in Washington state answered an emergency call from an animal lover who saw a cat that was stranded in a tree at Othello's Lion's Park in Othello for five days on Thursday November 21..
A rescuer with the Adams County Pet Rescue used a ten foot ladder and climbed four feet up the tree to rescue the cat and bring down the cat who was wearing a collar but the collar did not have any identification.
What will happen to the cat is not known at this time other than the cat was given food, drinks and a blanket to get warm after the rescue.

I wonder why cats get stuck in trees. They jump down from fences and the like, but trees...?

I guess cats can climb up trees with ease but they get scared climbing down trees since they fear heights.

A great job done by the rescuers.I know a boy who recently rescued a kitten from a street dog.The dog ran to a kitten who came out from a house.He did not see the dog.We were sitting at a roadsidd restaurant.A boy saw a dog who was about to reach the kitten.The boy thew a stone at the dog.The dog turned around and rushed back in the house he had come out from.

cat's being "stuck" somewhere is so funny to me. because from my experience - they usually can go down, but don't want to. my husband's cat once climbed up on the roof and she was meowing so loud, everyone could hear her. and as soon as he climbed up to get her, she started waking on the roof and got down.

That is kind of odd that cats when they want to can climb down from a tree.
