Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) answered an emergency call from concerned residents on Sunday December 22 when a rooster was seen running around the parking lot of a local church. SCSO Deputy Watkins chased the rooster around the church parking lot when the rooster was captured by the deputy after the rooster tried to evade capture by fleeing into a tree when the deputy captured the rooster and took him back to the coop of the rooster safely. The rooster as well as the deputy were not injured in the incident. The name of the church was not mentioned. How did the rooster get loose on the streets in Shelby County is not known. The rooster was lucky, the moment a person saw a rooster in the street here in our country it will be save in just a second, and it will be a very good lunch. Sorry, but that was the customary here. It gave the owner a headache but a fun experience to some naughty citizen.

That is okay since I respect the customs of your nation regarding the loose rooster.

I am in agreement with you that someone should direct the rooster to his home.

Some cultures are quick to eat those little guys if they see them running wild, so I’m glad it was returned to its owner.

@celticeagle I do not think that the rooster was going to lunch that day if he was caught.

Perhaps, the lively rooster wanted to join the choir at that church, as it probably sings louder than a lot of the old singers there.
