So it snowed

Since so many people won't be coming to work......
If you guessed it, I'm called in to do a 10 1/2 hour shift because I'm in management.
This morning is a serious skeleton crew, one cashier and managers.
If I don't have any staff today I'll be running the register my entire shift.
We got over 2 inches of snow and sleet. A little freezing rain that's hanging in the bushes and trees. My part of Alabama usually doesn't get any snow, sometimes ice but no one knows how to drive in this weather.
Of course the store won't close, we might, just might have a few customers.... This company could close earlier but noooooo!
I absolutely dislike winter.

I always hated that Walmart thinks they have to be open just in case Joe down the street needs a candy bar when there's six feet of snow and ice on the ground.
I always tried to be there to cover my shift...
I hope you're being careful. Try to find the fun side of your job, if you can.

@DaddyEvil the head manager thinks I'm good at that. I am, I don't mind the cussing me out.

@andriaperry No call, no shows, when I was in management, was a massive pet peeve of mine, and one I never made a judgement call on NOT to write someone up for it.

I’m sick of it, too. I watched a weatherman in Youngstown, Ohio this evening, and he said that a lot of people already have “winter fatigue.” No kidding!! I guess we got spoiled by these mild winters we’ve had the last few years.

It looks and sounds like you got quite a bit of snow.
There is a rewarding feeling to be someone who manages to make it into work on such a day, even when there may not be the need for so much staff, it is a good feeling.
I don't like all of this snow either, I have had to buy a second pair of boots, a tall pair wasn't enough, so I had to get a mid-calf pair.
