Do you have a standard for the best cookie in your mind?

We love cookies. Some of us love chocolate cookies more the regular cookies. There are few gifted bakers among us at Mylot , who can give store cookies a run with their home bked cookies.
I have been a great cookie monster when it comes to Danish cookies. As a child, I would often have these cookies during any get together and would avoid other options. Over the years, I have seen these Danish cookies as my gold standard when it comes to cookies. I love the delicate balance between the flavour and texture. I love the crispy taste and even without any chocolate chunks, it is still able to bring in that melting in your mouth along with that aroma. Perhaps the vision of best cookies is shaped by taste , memory and experience.
So , what is your standard when it comes to the best cookie?

I like all of the ones in the Danish cookie brand. I do love cookies with sugar as well!

I love cookies with a soft texture that melts in your mouth. Chocolate chips are fine as long as the cookie is soft. I will eat other types of cookies but the soft ones will be eaten first.

I love the cookies in the photos, my mom would always buy it and our relatives will always brought that when they visited our house when I was little, I really love the butter taste in it. And when I eat that now it brings back good memories. Life is so simple before, and more enjoyable.

Life was enjoyable and simple sometime ago. It seems to be complex and very fast these days. I too love the butter cookie in the danish cookie set. Glad you liked them!

I envy people who can bake cookies. If I ever visit Austalia , I know where to go for home baked cookies!

Being a chocolate lover, I tend to like a sweet tasting cookie. A chocolate chip cookie is classic and very good. But I like macaroons, black and whites, and Shortbread too.
Not too many types of cookies I wouldn't try.
