Did I Do That?

Send a message to the wrong person by email or other? yes l did. Thankfully the message l sent was quite harmless , meant for my brother but l mistakenly sent to my sister - no harm done. However l am annoyed with myself for making that kind of mistake - the results could have been worse-- depending. Has this ever happened to you and is there a way to recall or delete a sent message? If you did at least it didn't cause any trouble, or you would have remembered.

Not a nice feeling when that message goes off and you can't get it back.

I have done that, with a text and an email. The text was no big deal because it was innocuous. The email was very unfortunate, involving a guy, and I had to do a lot of talking to get myself out of trouble.

Oh I’ve done it plenty . Complaining about my husband and accidentally sending it to him a few times.

I believe there is no way to delete once the message has been sent, I have not had such a problem but I have posted something with mistakes and I am always glad to see the edit so I can correct it before others see it,

Thank goodness it was a harmless message! I was responding to my son - and somehow the word got spellchecked to "poop" . . . only it didn't get to my son - it made it to my one of my friends .

In a group text last week someone said something to me but they thought they were saying it to my son. Both of our names begin with the same initial, and the sender felt awful, they told me that yesterday. The worst that I have done was to send a text (to our son) without my glasses on and auto correct changed it and it was talking about someone getting engaged and it changed the name-my son couldn't believe it and questioned me before contacting the wrong person.

Good that your son thought of contacting you before going ahead and contacting the wrong person. I do understand how the sender in that group text felt.

I think if we are in a hurry anything is possible as far as mis sending messages. I do not recall having done so, though. I am not aware of any way to unsend a message.

Yes, fortunately I was able to recall, that is the first and last. But I sometimes sent messages to different people, but gladly they are my closest friends so no harm done also.

Do not fret over this. I do agree the results could have been worse if the content would have been confidentia; and the receipient was wrong person . Luckily, thats not the case. You can be more cautious when you are sending emails or texts next time. It has happened to me while emailing office work. Sometimes you would send to wrong recipient and well since it is office stuff , not much harm done. I have also received emails from other departments when I should not be the receipent. Sometimes , I do respond stating I am a wrong reciepient for the mentioned mail. I did recall few times messages just to modify the content or add extra lines.Take care!
