Music for Sleeping

Music for sleeping, which includes songs. Do you listen to any?
I ran out of melatonin and had to find another way to fall asleep. Besides, I struggle despite taking melatonin from time to time.
As I bought an MP3 player for my walks, I figured I could listen to music at bedtime.
Of course, the songs I had in that device were meant for walking so they were upbeat, but I picked one that was simple and repetitive enough to lull me into some sort of trance, and put it on repeat.
And it worked!
It was a song about a weapon being forged, in a language I'm not too familiar with.
Maybe I should download some "serious" music for sleeping, like those with special waves and subliminal messages. But being forged for the next morning like a weapon is forged for war sounds more dope if you ask me.

I'm glad that worked for you.
I usually either read a book until I fall asleep or I start a YT video with someone with a soothing voice talking to listen to until I fall asleep. I don't listen to music.
I hope you're having a good day.

@somewitch You're very welcome and thank you.
There are several YouTubers that I enjoy their content and their voices have emotion in them but don't suddenly spike while they're recording. Simon Whistler is one of them that I might start and let his videos run until I wake up. It doesn't matter if I've already heard the content.
My laptop lives beside me on my queen sized bed.

@kallula Thanks!
What genre helps you relax the most? Like pop songs about love wouldn't really work with me because I might start daydreaming.
But metal music does sometimes.

@kallula I don't actually listen to that genre much, but I see how you can relax listening to it while lying in bed.

@kareng Thanks! Television would help me too, having some light and hearing people speak is somehow soothing. But I don't have a TV in my bedroom.

@somewitch I used to leave my television on years ago when my husband worked night shifts.

Hey as long as it works..Any kind of repetive noise as long as it isn't jarring could be good for sleep I think.

@snowy22315 Agreed, I also find white noise to be relaxing to some extent.

I don't usually listen to music when I have to make myself sleepy, I listed to podcast or preaching in the youtube.

@luisadannointed Hearing people talk is so soothing, I didn't download any podcast episode otherwise that would have been my first choice.

@JudyEv Definitely, I've started to build (in)tolerance towards that song, so I really need to look for more suitable tracks. But I also managed to buy some melatonin, not sure if I should do both now.
