Pretty Depressing

Every morning I get a notification from the local TV station that they’re doing a live weather update vlog. Being the weather geek I am, I watch it, even when I’m 800 miles from home. I watched it this morning…
It was pretty depressing. 
Dang, I might have to find a VA hospital and get an “emergency refill” of some of my medications instead of going home. I only packed four weeks’ worth of medicine.
Last night I was in DeLand. I had only been there once, in 1978, for a concert…STEVE MARTIN. Yes, I’m old enough to have seen Steve Martin live as a stand-up comedian. He opened up with that “Ramblin’ Guy” song by singing, “Rambled out to DeLand, it’s next to De Water.” He continued, “I’ve done research on your city, and it’s so good to be here in the capital of Florida.” 
At the moment I’m in my 4th Chuy’s of the trip (Louisville, Birmingham, Jacksonville, and now Winter Park). After lunch I’ll head off to wherever the brown informational signs take me.
The photo is from St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, one of five that I’ve been to thus far. I need to get on my state park horse and visit more!

@kaylachan — I haven’t been on the interstates much since I reached Florida. My gas mileage is reflecting that…39 MPG on the last tank (about 36.5 the entire trip thus far).

We had a drizzly day complete with ice,not a lot of ice but enough that I didn’t care to hit the road to run any errands. Supposed to warm a bit tomorrow and melt. Then late Friday night we are to get ice, or snow, they haven’t decided which. You picked a good week to go state-parking!

It’s supposed to sn*w Monday and Tuesday, so who wants to go home to THAT?!? I’m keeping an eye on the temperatures: if it’s supposed to get down into the low 20s I’ll have to go home to let the faucets drip. (That’s okay, the Derby is three months away. )

Steve Martin is so cool. We may be getting an ice storm tonight, although the accumulation is minimal. Hopefully, won't affect the power lines at all. Thursday is to be warm so yay there. At least that is how it is here. I would stay longer if I were you, the weather next week looks like crap here, and yours back home may be similar.
