…Today you get this gorgeous picture! This is Wekiwa Springs State Park, in the general vicinity of Orlando. It’s one of 20 spring state parks in Florida. The springs are uniformly the same approximate temperature all year long (about 72 degrees F). More importantly, they’re also uniformly CLEAR. That’s the bottom of the lake you’re seeing, straight through the water. The springs tend to attract manatees in the winter (yet another great reason to come here in the “off season”). I didn’t see any in Wekiwa Springs today, though. The last time I was here, I saw three of them in Silver Springs State Park, so it’s evened out. Tomorrow (Thursday) I’ll be spending time with my aunt and uncle who live down here, so enjoy this gorgeous photo from today!

I love watching the manatees. Especially when there is a mama one with a baby.

Glad you enjoy it. Not all of Florida’s lakes/streams/rivers look like that.

@FourWalls Would be a good place to splash around in, if the manatees won't mind.

Not very in this area, one to five feet deep. It’s as deep as 20 feet further out.

It was 82 today so it should be “cool” and tranquil.

Such a awesome photo of the water, that's the 1 thing I miss the most about Fla, & that's being around the clear lakes & streams of water & all the fishing we use to do.

I went to another state park where the water wasn’t as clear.

Nice pic..My son was once on a group trip and canoed down the Suwanee river. That must have been fun. However, not when the canoe capsized and his camera and all the film (film days) got wet.

Oh, what a bummer about the film. They had canoes and kayaks for rent there, but that was my first thought…and I’ve never canoed or kayaked before.

I'd love to get in clear water like that as I recall in Missouri in years gone by. But am not sure about the water in FL..too many creatures I imagine. Lovely pic.

Thank you. And, as usual, the photo does nothing in comparison to being there and seeing the minnows swimming in the crystal clear water.
