Escambia County Fire Rescue and Escambia Animal Control officers answered an emergency call on Tuesday morning January 28 when a dog was stuck under a shipping container.
The rescue team members cut a hole underneath the container and a rescue team member dug a hole to free the dog who would have passed away from lack of air to breathe had he not been rescued.
The rescue team members used a ketch-all pole to grab the dog safely out of danger. The dog was not injured in the incident but hopefully the dog will be careful not to place his head underneath the underside of a container again.

I wonder what that dog was doing roaming around freely in such an area. Where was its owner, not keeping the dog properly contained in his yard?

That is a good question what was the dog doing in the area and where was his owner.
