Chunk of ice strikes a roof of a home in Florida from the sky

The Palm Coast Fire Department in Florida answered an emergency call from a homeowner on Monday of last week that a chunk of ice that came from the sky had opened a hole in the roof of their home and landed inside their home. The firefighters determined that the damage from the chunk of ice that struck the roof and entered the home did not cause serious damage to the home where the residents could not stay in their home. The firefighters did the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to tell them that maybe an airplane could have been responsible for the chunk of ice falling from the sky and hit the roof of the home. Anymore it seems we have to expect the unexpected. Weird, in Florida yet...but strange things do happen.

That is true since i do have some fears of either intruders knocking on my door or chunks of airplanes falling on my roof.

@MarieCoyle That is a concern of mine that an object coming from either an airplane or a small plane could crash on the roof of my home with a piece of metal coming down from the sky.

@Deepizzaguy Most intruders don’t knock, they just force their way inside. Yes, things could fall out of the sky on us, but that is extremely rare and there is nothing we can do to prevent that.

I hope insurance covers it and doesn't say, "Sorry, that is not covered. It was an Act of God and uncontrollable." That seems to be a common reply these days.

@Deepizzaguy Yes, since insurance is supposed to cover unexpected expenses.

Shards of ice are sharp and can sure do damage. It probably was a plane going over.

Most likely a small airplane or commercial aircraft since in my neighborhood there are small aircraft flying overhead sometimes.

The ice most likely came from an airplane or a helicopter.

I know what you mean since it would shock me if a chunk of ice fell on my roof, I would be scared.
