I have been trying to find some good foods to eat this spring. I love avocados but didn't know so many good things about them, especially in the eye and brain categories. They contain carotenoids and lutein, both are antioxidants valuable to eye and heart health. The are more than a thousand types of avocadoes but, in the United States, the Hass variety is the most popular. Having healthy fat-content avocados contributes to fat loss, makes one feel full longer, and cuts down on food cravings. The blood sugar stabilizing effect they have helps to reduce blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. The chemicals in avocados help to in cancer cell cycle death and inhibit growth. They are on my list for the spring. The picture is from simplemost.

Avocado toast is very tasty. My date avocado chocolate pudding is even tastier.

I bet the avocado makes the chocolate have a creamier texture.

@celticeagle It does. I use baking cocoa and find it hard to quit eating the pudding.

We love avocados! We make guacamole, but we also just slice or dice into various salads, burgers, and tortilla soup. Hubby and I like to smear it onto toast.

If you find ones that may be okay you could put them in a brown paper sack with an apple or a banana and leave for 24 hours. That is supposed to help them ripen.
