Hi, everyone! Wow, I had to stop and take a break from shoveling that 4-8” of sn*w we got overnight!!! That is sarcasm: we got maybe an inch. They missed that forecast BIG TIME…and I couldn’t be happier. I managed to go out today. The tree is still blocking the road (it appears that the tree split in half, with part of it falling on the road and the other half of it falling the other direction). It’ll probably stay there until it warms up. Can’t say I’d blame anyone. The photo is of Cumberland Falls during one of my trips there, back in 2020. It doesn’t look ANYTHING like that right now, with the flooding. The bottom of the river looks to be about 2/3 of the way up the falls from the photo they showed on the news the other day. Speaking of news, I haven’t seen this headline anywhere on here: did y’all know the Pope is in the hospital? Double pneumonia. That’s not good for anyone, let alone an 88-year-old who had part of one lung removed when he was younger. Just got a new shipment of tea!! It’s chocolate babka flavored, from the Republic of Tea, and it’s superb. Hope y’all have a great day!

I hope that's all the snow you see for the rest of this winter! That tree is fine where it is until it warms up this weekend/next week. People can drive other streets until then. I knew/had heard the Pope was sick but hadn't heard he was in the hospital. I hope he feels better and gets out soon. I used to drink chocolate tea. But my favorite was always peach.

Our seasonal average is 13.4”. Thus far we’ve had 22.3”. Blech. Peach tea rocks. Positively!!!

@FourWalls You're well ahead of average, then... The only problem I have now is I'm supposed to cut back on sugar and I can't drink tea without sugar. Honey doesn't taste right and artificial sweeteners can make me throw up...

I love peach tea! so, so good. It doesn't look good for the Pope. I did think it was in poor taste that so many articles were written this week about who will be the next Pope. Yes, he is old and more than likely not going to survive, but my old fashioned brain considered that a bit tacky.

You were supposed to get the 4 inches of snow, and got 1 inch or so...I know you are extremely happy about that, I got off and on flurries all morning here but only amounted to about the same as you got. We were supposed to get 1-2 inches, so our weather guy didn't mess up. It's supposed to do some warming up next week, you will like that!!!

Yes, warmer weather is a thrill and a delight!!! Plus, it’s that light sn*w that blows around. A lot of the interstate I was on today was dry, so that’s a good thing before we hit single-digit temperatures over the next two days.

@MarieCoyle — that’s true on a warm, sunny day (they don’t take their brains).

@FourWalls Our interstates are clear of ice and snow now, and that's a good thing. Town roads still have some problems but if a person actually drives like they have a brain, they will get to their destination. Trouble is, many drivers don't remember to take their brain when they get behind the wheel!

They do call Cumberland Falls “the Niagara of the South,” but it’s nowhere near as beautiful as Niagara is.

Glad you didn't get much new snow. I had heard he is in the hospital.

I might be on TV in August, chasing our sn*w-loving meteorologist around the fairgrounds.

The most recent update I’ve seen is that he’s resting, is “in good spirits,” and is breathing on his own (which is crucial when you’re talking about something like pneumonia). Still concerns, though…as I said, he is 88.

The way our weather is, it’ll be back to a trickle by summertime.

Wow that is a great photo sad it isn’t the same now as when you went to see it. I hope it’s still just as pretty even if not as deep. They’ve been off with all our predictions of snow this year as well.

Oh, it’s much, much deeper because of the flood.

Wow, you got even less snow than we did. Pretty pic. I heard that about the Pope. This Pope is a nice one, I hope he recovers, but it doesn't sound great.

I know. It’s not good for anyone to have pneumonia, but especially not at that age.

@FourWalls George had asperaion pnemunoia, and spent four days on a ventulator. It wasn't much fun I am sure.

I haven’t ever had pneumonia but I had pleurisy and that was horrible. Couldn’t imagine something worse.

But the Pope is best friends with the Lord and today it said he was feeling better. Enjoy your tea. I hope you have a good evening,

Sometimes lightning will split a tree like that. I'd heard about the Pope. Double pneumonia doesn't sound good.
