Update on the baby doll car owner

A few days ago, I wrote a post about a car I keep seeing, the owner of it worked at a nearby grocery store. I did not know who he/she was or anything about it, but of course with a baby doll wired to the grill of the car, everyone has been curious. Fast forward to yesterday at the grocery. As usual, I made my weekend run for some milk for the son. I went inside, and part of the store was sort of blocked off from people to not be able to shop in a certain area. And the store absolutely reeked of alcohol, or as we call it, liquor. Luckily, I was able to get the milk and went to pay for it. Everyone in the line was speculating--what happened? And did they have a massive spill of some type in the liquor section? The story as I heard it, as a store employee told to another customer ahead of me, was that a young man who worked there was on the closing shift the night before. He was to be the last one out that night as he was supposed to do the final cleaning tasks--evidently from what the employee said, they take turns doing this. It seems he had a party after everyone left the building. He went to the liquor section, smashed a LOT of glass bottles of stuff, and drank himself nearly into a coma. The opening manager found him lying in a mess of spilled liquor, and couldn't rouse him. Glass everywhere. He had to be rushed to the hospital. I guess this isn't the first job he has lost through his strange behaviors. I also heard the employee say, ''you know, the guy with the baby doll on the front of his car'' so now I guess he will have to move on when he gets better and take his baby doll car to another job. I will have to say, he surely must have made a huge mess, to the tune of a lot of money. And I wonder how they will ever get the liquor smell out of there. They had some big commercial fans blowing in the blocked off section, and Servpro cleaning service was there as well. Hopefully, he will get some help, as the employee said he just got out of a drug rehab as well, not long ago.

that’s quite a story! It’s wild how this mysterious car with the baby doll on the front turned out to belong to someone with such a troubled history.

Maybe this could be a turning point for him to get the help he needs. It's my understanding he isn't but about 30 years old.

We may never know the story. It sounds as if he has a lot of problems.

Alcholism is a horrid desise. I feel for those who deal with it. George's stroke broke his addaction, but I just hope that poor man doesn't end up on a slab.

@MarieCoyle I wish the best for him though, but I hope I'm wrong about it not ending well.

He will have charges pending due to all the damage he did, I'm sure. Probably court ordered rehab. No way of knowing for sure, I guess.

All I have to say is that is one big loser. His best friend could be Norman Bates, remember him?

That's pretty sad but certainly the smashed liquor would cost the store a lot of money.

I would imagine that a business like that (large grocery store chain here) would have insurance to cover big losses.

I wish I could say I was surprised, but truly I am not. Guy sounds like a psycho honestly.

It truly seems he has some major problems. I wasn’t surprised, either. But oh, what a horrible mess to clean up!

At least now you know. Some people can't get off the stuff. What a story. Hope the store can get the smell out.

Ah, so it was an employee's car. Sad that he must've been a pretty troubled guy . . . it's amazing he was even able to hold a job there, or maybe this was his first "episode" there. Hope he gets the help he needs . . . he has a long road ahead.
