Brain-storming is always good

The photo is of a sunset from our previous home. We’ll be house-sitting for the neighbour from next week so we’re looking forward to some more spectacular sunsets. On another subject: It’s often advantageous to talk with others about all sorts of things. For instance, we used to park our caravan under a lean-to which was attached to our friend’s shed. Unfortunately, our new-to-us motor-home is too high to fit under the roof. Our friend is happy for us to dig out a small amount of earth which would allow the vehicle to fit underneath. Our friend discussed the issue with HIS friend who pointed out that the indentation would fill with water over the winter. It would drain away quite quickly but until it did, evaporation upwards would cause the underneath of the motor-home to rust. We hadn’t considered that so that plan is now out the door and Plan B is to buy a cover for it.

I agree, brainstorming is often good... until it isn't... What if all the storming causes water on the brain? I'm glad other brains were involved. We don't want unnecessary damage to the new RV.

That's very true. And if you are close to the problem, sometimes you can't 'see the wood for the trees'. Do you have that saying?

I totally agree there. Meeting and talking to people help, they bring about different perspectives and ideas. Brainstorming is good. That's a spectacular sunset. So good that you will seeing more of them during your house sitting next week.

So maybe you need to ask a specific question to get some answers. It's harder here because you can't check tone of voice or body language and it's easy to upset people.

You’re so right: someone might see a problem (or a solution) that nobody else even considered. I totally agree with digging an indentation being an invitation to water problems. You may not get a lot of rain, but it only takes one significant rainfall to cause irreparable problems.

We hadn't considered the rust possibility at all. We thought the water would quickly drain away, which it would, but the damage would be done by then.

That's such a gorgeous sunset. Good thing the water issue was brought up before you dug up some ground for your caravan to fit. Wouldn't be fun to find out down the road that it wasn't the best idea.
