Hey! Hey! Hey! It’s time to go back 70 years to 1955, when things were really changing in the world of music. Today’s 1955 song is a great example of things changing and breaking out in a big way. You know this guy, don’t pretend you don’t. Cry! Cry! Cry! - Johnny Cash And Yes! Yes! Yes! The exclamation marks are part of the song title! On June 21, 1955, this song was released. What an earthquake. While we generally think of Elvis as the rock and roll shot heard ‘round the world, you have to remember that this wasn’t your conventional country music sound. They called it “rock-billy” then, a mix of “rock and roll” and “hillbilly” (which is what country music was still generally called at the time), which morphed to “rockabilly.” There are not a lot of people in music that you can rightfully call a genuine legend, someone whose name is known worldwide. Johnny Cash is one of those individuals. And that career started right here with this song. Cry! Cry! Cry! Written by Johnny Cash Recorded by Johnny Cash Released as a single, 1955 It’ll hurt when you think of the fool you’ve been:

I remember this being sung in the biopic movie “Walk The Line”. I love that movie. I have it in dvd format and watched it a number of times. Johnny Cash is one of my all-time favourite singers. A better than good choice!
