For my fellow Americans, remember, this time tomorrow it won’t be this time tomorrow. For everyone, here’s another trip back in time, to 1955. Although I wasn’t alive then, the music was, and was it changing!! Here’s today’s song from 70 years ago. Hearts of Stone - Red Foley I’m going with the Red Foley version because that’s the first version I ever heard. But you can take your pick from 1955: the Chordettes, the Fontaine Sisters, the Jewels, or the Charms. And if you want to stay in country, you also have the option of Ruby Wright’s version. (She was the daughter of Johnnie Wright and “Queen of Country Music” Kitty Wells, and was all of 16 when she recorded the song. Her version is at a slower tempo, much like the original by the Jewels.) As you can probably tell by the Foley arrangement, this, too, was originally a doo-wop song. It seems that every genre had a version in 1955. (Could you imagine six different recordings of a hit song today??? ) If none of those appeal to you, there’s always the 1973 rock-out version that John Fogerty recorded under the pseudonym the Blue Ridge Rangers. Hearts of Stone Written by Eddie Ray and Rudy Jackson Recorded by Red Foley Released as a single, 1955 (Also recorded by the Chordettes, the Fontaine Sisters, and Ruby Wright, 1955) Everybody knows, I thought you knew:

Lots of do-do-wops there, but not Do-wop. Here's another type of Heart of Stone song I prefer, no offense Red. It's my cousin and his wife's band, so, I have to like it or be disowned. They had a brief stint in the Grand Ole Opry spotlight, lol.

@FourWalls I remember my cousin practicing on his guitar in high school relentlessly. And his band playing at his sister's wedding. Seems all that hard work paid off for him. As one who knows his country music, I thought you might have heard of them.
