Today, when Martín was making me walk, he said that he was hungry and that we could order a hamburger at Mac Donalds.
I don´t like Mac Donalds. I love the pictures of the hamburgers and when I succumb to them, they bring small hamburgers that have nothing to do with the pictures in the walls.
Jokingly I replied that I preferred the chicken of the Kentucky Fried Chicken and Martín took my word.
He wanted to pay for it but I told him that we could share. And we did.
I placed back in the freezer the still frozen trout and we had a basket of fried chicken and chips.
I´ll have fish on Wednesday and will tell Anita to cook some potatoes to have at the side.
And I will buy some ice cream for dessert. It is on sale.
It was an easy lunch.

I like Martin.
Not everything has to be "healthy" for us all the time. Sometimes we want flavor and you get that from grease, salt and sugar.
Now I want KFC, too... But the closest KFC to me is over 70 miles/112 km away.

I agree. But I eat other sorts of unhealthy delicious things. KFC is not usually my kind of food.

I usually don´t buy that kind of food. Probably the last time I ate something like that was over 15 years ago.

@TheHorse I´d eat cole slaw with anything. Or alone.
Mashed potatoes too. I make my mashed potatoes with lots of butter and whole milk.

@marguicha Yes, that happens, especially if you are not used to it. My husband's stomach is very sensitive and he finally agrees with me that he has colitis. Consult doctor? No way. Men!

@kareng I shouldn´t have eaten it. But I won´t do it again for a long time.

When I still loved in NYC there were Chinese places that made the best BBQued chicken with fried rice and egg rolls and you could even get a whole chicken. I liked KFC but that Chinese chicken was always the best.

I only found one very good Chinese restaurant in my visits to the US. We were in Chinatown in San Francisco and we went to a Chinese restaurants where all the rest of the people dining there were Chinese (American?). In my country I have discovered some good ethnic restaurants where people from other places eat. A friend whose parents had immigrated from Lebanon showed us 2 Lebanese restaurants that were "the only ones that cook just my mom did".

The best part was the company. I´m afraid that the KFC was delicious but my tummy is husting a bit now. I´m glad that I still have some chicken broth from yeaterday. I´ll have that for dinner.

@sallypup And it is not the kind of fat I use. I use the best oil and it is something I never recycle. My husband had liver problems for years and I had to skip oil almost completly.

It was delicious but I woke up from my nap with some tummy ache. Those fried things are not for me anymore.

Martín wanted to treat me to it. I told him we´d split. I, like you, think that it is very expensive as compared to the food I make at home.

At one time, KFC chicken was the best you could get. Not here, at least no where around here even has a KFC now. They all got so terrible...their chicken was the worst in the world. I did read that in places other than the US, they have a lot better following because they actually serve good chicken still. I am glad you had some and enjoyed it!

I guess the problem lies in the oil. I´m used to cook with little oil and that´s one thing I don´t recycle.

I really try to completely avoid deep fried foods. I just don't need to eat them...if and when I do fry things, I use a good cooking oil and I don't deep fry, I just put in the needed amount.
