I was listening to a content creator on YouTube and she made a comment that gave me pause. She said she wanted to get her little dog taxidermied when she died. On the one hand I sort of cringed but, on the other hand I feel like if you have a deep bond with this animal why not keep it with you? This pet that you loved so much. Especially if it is well done. What are your thoughts on this issue?

I cringe whenever people mention that they will taxidermy their beloved pets or their hunting kills. I think it would be best to just bury or cremate the beloved pet and let it rest in peace. There is no need to taxidermy any animals at all unless it is for science. However, it's up to her. It's not illegal anyway.

@celticeagle It's gross and disturbing, but yes, it's up to her.

I don't think I would that version of a favorite pet.

I wouldn't do it; but my husband and I used to talk about it.

It's not something I'd do or want done, no... Dogs are people, too. Would you let someone taxidermy your grandma just because you didn't want her to go? To me, it's the same thing.
