Today is the day I have to deal with several developmentally delayed students who do NOT have that peculiar aptitude for music that seems to come with Autism. I have to adjust my expectations and go with a slow learning curve. Then I feel bad about being impatient. How is your Tuesday shaping up?

I guess the key is to find that creative way to connect with them at some kind of musical level. We know you're already good at that . . . it's a different kind of challenge today using different keys

It is April Fool's Day. In the break room I noticed two Krispy Kreme Donuts boxes. They were filled with veggies. Our Special Ed. Teachers are hosting a para appreciation day tomorrow. Invitations were e mailed to us all, and at least one person e mailed back asking if this was an April Fool's Joke, but it is not.

I enjoy the Autistic kids. Many of them have a special aptitude for music.
