Nobody and noone is perfect. I never said that and won't. BUT know what? I can NOT afford to entirely pay for the medical care that I just am pulling away from. I am grateful for the Medicare system and grateful for the insurance company that is helping me foot the bills. No way can I entirely pay for having a scan and blood draws. No way can I pay for the folks who knew how to do those tests on me- they are educated and somebody had to pay for that. No way can I afford to totally pay for three days of hospital stay and food. And on I go. I am grateful for the government system. It is flawed. You bet. So am I. But it is giving me a monetary break that really helps. Really helps.

I'm always glad that Medicaid is there for Pretty and I. There is no way I could have paid for all the doctors and hospital visits I've had since I was let go from Walmart. My eyes keep swelling shut for no reason we could find... We thought it was allergies doing that until the specialists started running checks on me and found that my thyroid was out of whack. I take a dozen different meds every day now... I couldn't pay for those without Medicaid, either. The meds literally keep me alive. I agree, the system is flawed but without it, there would be droves of us who would no longer be alive.

Yup. Hubby racked up bills around $100,000 several times. I think we paid between 2-3 thousand. Thank goodness for insurance.
