Virtual Gardening

I live in a Housing situation where we have no room to plant except in a very small patio. But, we have to have everything out of the way for the lawn people when they come to mow each week. I am enjoying doing research and looking into new and different ways of gardening. I thought I would post about what I find. Like for instance this one: It is called the Catsup and Fries Plant. It is a hand-grafted hybrid that produces both cherry tomatoes and potatoes. It's created by combining the tomato plant top with the potato plant roots. This allows for two harvests in the same place and time. They run about $16.95. You just cut the tomato plant down to the earth and then you can harvest the potatoes underneath. I thought this was really unique and different. It's great for those who don't have a lot of room in their gardens. The picture is from my collection.

@celticeagle oh okay. I've been interested in vertical gardening but I just don't have the space and can't have a system out on the landing.

@NJChicaa ........same here. The neighbor kids are so destructive I couldn't set anything out without a guard.

We have the similar concept here. Some people will rent such kind of small land to plant anything they like. Some even pay extra money so that someone will take good care of the plants there

@celticeagle That's much more convenient. Here in the city it's too hard to have such kind of land and therefore usually this gardens or little farms are available in the suburbs only.

My uncle was very good at grafting and had five different stone fruits growing on the one trunk.
