Suffering the Consequences

Well, I am not totally sure of the suffering here, but if one buys a house in an HOA and does not follow their rules and regulations, then isn't this what you get? I mean come on and considering they first bought it with an affordability scheme from the liberal city of Denver, CO, then you are mad because a developer bought it out from under you for an equally cheap price, though legally couldn't? Do people not know what an HOA is? Anyway, now she is whining and wants her house back. And of course the sympathizers in Colorado will help her do just that. Do you belong to an HOA? Do you expect to not follow the rules or law and keep your place?

I would NEVER buy a house with an HOA. F that. This is literally the best clapback I've seen at an HOA. https://www.tiktok.com/@cluckaroundnfindout/video/7444594441916222766

The house where I live (actually my mom’s first house she never sold) has two HOAs. One charges a monthly fee. Another charges a yearly fee. I have no idea why there are two and what the rules are for each one. Also have no idea what each payment covers. I bet my mom has no idea either.

@RebeccasFarm My mom’s house has the same thing. And she pays two fees—yearly and monthly.

Dim-witted people seem to be taking over the states now. Most HOAs are pretty good about getting with you immediately, and it's usually a mistake or something forgotten. I'm sure they would work with her if she were nice at all. I would only buy one with an HOA in a situation where they kept up the outside yards. Snow plowing, mowing, all of that sort of thing.

I didn't know that could happen! I thought if HOA rules were broken, you'd have to pay fines or that they could sue you. We have never wanted to live in a place with HOA . . . it's extra money and we didn't want too many restrictions with what we could do with the place.

I am glad too. It's a restriction that not everyone wants to follow the rules.

I've never been part of an HOA. Some rules make sense and some people need rules because they have no sense.

From all the horror stories I've read of HOAs, I would stay well away from them
