I have been made an offer

We have a new student starting at the preschool level who has similar needs as my student who is moving up. It would be a half time job, as I wanted. It would be first thing in the morning, but I was hoping for a later start. I was given names to consult with concerning this young man. I will also look at things like adult seating in the room and other things that will have a bearing on whether or not I think I could physically do it. When I was discussing this with Bob he said "You would be good for him." But my question is if it would be good for me. I will let you guys know what I figure out.

I know you'll make the right decision based on your needs.

I am very inclined to take it after visiting with the therapists and the classroom teacher.

Maybe you could negotiate for a later start time? Just a thought...

It is a later start than I have right now, but I would need to be there for the full session, so I cannot put it off to 11 a.m. like I thought. I still think I will take it.

@GardenGerty It would give you more free time with less hours. It would be worth it. If you feel like I do, things seem to be getting harder and harder to do and more wear on your body.

I don't think doing something so physically taxing would be a good idea personally, but of course the decision is yours.

This would be much less than what I have been doing, and the little guy is maybe half the size of my current student.

Long before this was officially mentioned to me, it was mentioned by a person who knew of it, but has no vested interest and does not provide services for this student. When it was brought up again by someone who has "say so" it seems like it is a sign or a good indication that this is where my next assignment needs to be.

It will probably be what I will do. It is exciting to be in on the very beginning of his school journey.

I never did connect with the one person to discuss with, but I was able to learn a whole lot from the physical therapist who really told me all I need to know. She is a great resource for me.

They will not get rid of me, that is for sure. I think this may be the least difficult of the positions I could have.

I have talked to all but one person that was suggested to me, plus a few more. I have the perfect chair to take with me to the classroom and then I am going to practice getting up from sitting in the floor. I think it will be good for me.

I hope so, as there are things I want to be able to do at home.
