Brother is home and, as my niece said, same as always except with a sling now.
So I’m going to exhale and stop adulting for the rest of the year. But you’re stuck with more countdowns. Next month, we move forward 15 years to 1975, but for now here’s the song that I picked as the cream of the crop from the year I was born.
#1: Only the Lonely (Know the Way I Feel) - Roy Orbison
You might remember that this was on my 100 favorites list. Well, there’s a reason it’s on that list: I love the stuffing out of this song.
What is not to love: Roy Orbison’s incredible voice, the ache of the lyrics, and the beauty of the melody. The song itself is great (I first heard this when Sonny James covered it in country in the late 60s), but add Orbison’s voice to the mix and it’s over the top.
And it’s a classic for all time.
Thanks for reading.

If I haven’t said it already? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I remember this from your top 100. I too “love the stuffing” out of this song.
Looking forward to the songs of ‘75, which may (or may not) resonate with me, depending on your choice. I was a teenager back then, and VERY much into girls. At least I think so, as it was so long ago. 50 years. Wow! Where has the time gone?
Hope you’re well. x

I don’t know how those songs turned 50 and you and I are still so young.

Me too!!! Now, for the recovery. I hope he remember he’s not going to get over this as quickly as he did his knee replacement.
