Alabama State Police and the owner of a female kangaroo who ran away from her owner on Tuesday morning on Interstate 85 in the area between Tuskegee and Auburn which caused the state police to close both sides of the interstate in Macon County. The owner of the kangaroo used a tranquilizer dart to kayo the kangaroo who was then carried to an auto to be taken to her owner's home safe and sound. Patrick Starr who is the owner of the kangaroo mentioned that Sheila is in good spirits and being able to eat her food. Link is msn.com/en-us/news.us/...

It would be important to get the kangaroo off the highway.

The tranquilizer dart is so humane. That's good to hear. Sounds like she is okay.

I am in agreement with you that the tranquilizer is a humane way to stop an animal without being harmed.

I still wish that kangaroo could tell everyone why it ran away in the first place, I hope it is not abused,

That was the last resort, as kangaroos are hard to catch. You have to know what you are doing, as too much tranquiliser is not good for the animal. These darts cause injury to an animal too. Darts often cause some damage to the skin, and underlying tissues, upon impact, especially if the dart is fired with excessive force, or if the animal is moving at the time it is hit, like here.

I'm glad Sheila is off the interstate and safe and sound at home.
