I got a few things today. First was a new forsythia bush for hubby. Ours died out this winter for some reason. He wants another one yet. Maybe next week. I got my cabbage plants too. I have more of those than I wanted but I can take them back and resell them. I hope to get them planted tomorrow but it will depend on the weather. I also got what is called fire bushes. They turn a very pretty red in the fall as they get seeds on them. I had them in the past and I guess I forgot to gather seeds one year. I have them again. I still want to buy tomato plants and a few zucchini plants. Then I will have everything. I already have the seeds I want. While we were there 2 different storms went through. Both dropped a lot of rain. The first one had hail and the second one had some thunder. The sun was back out by the time we left. My foot was starting to hurt by the time we came home. But not as bad as when I got done shopping yesterday. It can relax some this weekend. I won't be standing and walking on it for a few straight hours. I can come in and take breaks when I want. Hope you had a good day.

Usually forsythia bushes are pretty strong and they are the first to bloom in early spring. I am sorry your foot hurts, have it checked if it continues to hurt.

@wolfgirl569 - May be a wild animal chewed the roots, but it's weird. Good that you are walking and standing, I think your foot will be fine soon.

Usually. I have no idea what happened. Also have a lilac and snowball bush in that row and they are fine. And they are not to close together. It's a lot better this morning. Just all the walking and standing on concrete

Fire bushes are very pretty!! Sounds like you got a good bit of things you needed and was looking for! I am hoping we are not washed out today and I can get at least 30 minutes in the garden. I have squash plants ready to go in. Tomatoes are a little too small yet.

@wolfgirl569 Right! We were wet enough here from yesterday and last night. I may not have to water tomorrow either!

I love them. Don't know why I forgot to collect seeds one year. Looks like all day light rain here. At least I don't have to water

Fire bushes? Those can spread really fast and become a nuisance... And the ones here come back year after year... I wonder if we're talking about the same thing? You could just clip a branch off the bush you bought and stick it in water. In less than a month it should have roots. Just stick it dirt after that. No need to buy another plant. We looked at tomato plants yesterday but they didn't have any cherry tomatoes left. It's too late to sprout from seeds now and them produce well. *shrug* A big storm went through while we were at the laundromat. We just pitched everything into the car and I told Pretty we could leave it until the storm was done and then bring it in the house to dry. We saw a LOT of lightning but not hail, thank goodness! (It started thundering while we were in the laundromat and everybody jumped at the first volley! It sounded like gunfire!) It still looks like it could pour at any moment. I'll tell George to "help" you more so your foot will feel better quickly. I hope he doesn't think I mean for him to step on it just to see you jump around.

These die off at the end of the year. The seeds are red which makes them look like fire. I had found them online before but a quick search I am not seeing them. I don't know the official name. Maybe you can find some soon. I could still start my own if I wanted to here. That's the kind of storms I like. I don't trust him as he tries to step on me sometimes

@wolfgirl569 The plants named "fire bush" here the leaves turn bright red in the fall. They're really pretty but they get away from you easily and take over a field. Poor George... you know he just wants to help.

Fresh cabbage is so good. Sweet and delicious. If your foot continues to hurt, please go see a doctor....you might need your tetanus shot before September.

We used to have a few burning bushes at our old place. They had small green foilage on them until the nights got cool in the autumn and then they turned to a bright red-hence their name. They were such pretty bushes, we always got alot of compliments from passer-byers. I bought 4 tomato plants (small ones) for $1.50 today, so picked up 4 of them. I don't like to pay a fortune for them, and that seemed reasonable.

I have what is called burning bush that is a true bush. These are different. They have to grow each year from seed. But are very lovely. That's a good price. I looked at a few things at Walmart but didn't buy any
