We are night people. We stay up enjoying the quiet of late evening and the night and what it has to offer. We don't care to be woken up until early afternoon. I have my phone on DONT DISTURB! (until noon) And I have a message on it saying to please call back in the afternoon if you want to talk to us. So, at about 11 a.m. the past few mornings, maintenance has been putting flooring down in the apartment north of us. Pounding and pounding until 8p. or 9p. at night. It gets old. But, the real fun part of all of this is that next week they will start doing the same thing here. Oh, yes. They will be pounding on the upstairs flooring. Tearing out the rug and putting in vinyl flooring. Oh, joy! And we will be just under them, down in the living room.

Why is Urban Living a thing? The more I think about it people should not be living together but separated enough so they appreciate each other. Offsprings famous line is " Got to keep them separated."

@celticeagle I think you are right and our dumb leaders want more. They think if the population dips for a bit, no one can carry the torch of their greedy and corrupt business practices.

We're night people, too. And to make sure nobody calls and wakes her up, Pretty always gives out my phone number. *sigh* Most of the time the people that call want to talk to her so I get to go in, wake her up and she has to go to my bedroom (We only get phone service in my bedroom or in the living room.) to answer her call.
I hope they get finished with your new flooring quickly so you can get back into your normal routine as fast as possible.

I remember you telling me that before. Rather comical. Poor dad.
I hope we live through moving all this stuff around. Just the two of them doing it and we have two more days. Not much done yet.

Sounds like when I had the roof done. Pounding for 10 hours. It will be nice when it's done though!

We have it double, though. Now they will soon be starting the pounding here.

I´m half sorry and half happy for you. The best will be your own floor.

Preach it. I don’t like getting up before 9:30 either. I’ve always been a night owl.

I enjoy feeling like I am the only one around in the night.
