Tale of the windy teacher.

I giggled and chuckled my way through Church this morning and was severely admonished by the wifely glare coming at me but I didn’t care. A woman came in and sat in front of me and I recognised her to be a teacher who taught my kids in school 30 years ago. She was a young thing then of course and has matured into a stately matron, and that made the giggles even worse. As soon as I made the connection the memory came to mind of asking one of my sons, her student, how school was that day. He was six years old. He said it was boring so I pushed a bit more and asked if anything funny happened and his eyes lit up. He told me, “Miss Thompson farted and me and Johnny Simpson heard it!!” This Miss Thompson in front of me in Church was the guilty party. She didn’t really look like the farting kind.

I'm a bit bemused about what the farting kind look like but I think I know.

Leave to a six-year-old boy to come up with that one.

I would have been giggling at a memory like that, too.
