Most of you know I’m a weather geek. If you wonder why, please admire these photos. While I was on my trip last week I stopped at the Jonesborough/Washington County History Museum to see some of the stories of the capital of a lost state/country in America. While I was in the museum I heard noise, like the air conditioner was ramping up. No. It was rain. The rain went from zero to sixty in a heartbeat. You can’t see how quickly the water rose in the street and the grass. That’s why I have a weather radio in my car, and why I have five different weather apps on my phone. You never know when something is going to happen with the weather! And you can see why they call it flash flooding! Photos are behind the museum (left) and of the street (right), after about 20 minutes of hard rain.

No weather geek would be without their trusty water wings or at least a pair of rubber boots, do you tote those in the car also? But seriously, nature never really bores us that is for sure.

I keep an inflatable kayak for instances like this.

Did you run out and skinny dip in the street?

Oh goodness they have a sewer problem for sure in that place. I also check the weather all the time before deciding what to do.

They probably don’t have a drainage problem under “normal conditions.” That rainfall wasn’t “normal.”

@FourWalls - Too much rain can cause a drainage problem.

They aren’t fun in a strange place, because you don’t know where the flood areas are.

Vince would be going on and on about the (lack of) drainage there!

There was a parking lot for one place that had drainage pipes in them. Bet that was under water after the storm.

I'm a weather geek too as you know. I check the DISH weather app about 10 times a day. It has current radar and a 7-day forecast.

I’ve finished lunch, but I’m still sitting here, watching the weather vlogs from James Spann and Brian Goode. Goode is my local weather guy.

What changeable weather ! I guess the rain stopped soon and you didn't get trapped in the flash flooding.
