Homebound tutoring is winding down

There's 1 month left before it ends on June 3. The number of hours I have to do has been decreasing over the past couple of weeks. This week I have just 6 hours scheduled though I do have to make up 3 hours with a student somewhere along the way. It has been a lot of extra work (especially filling out all of the vouchers and lesson plans) but the extra $$ certainly has been helpful. I wish there was a way to continue to do it over the summer. In any case the guidance secretaries are appreciative of the fact that I take pretty much everything they offer so they certainly will remember me next fall when this all starts up again.

It is easy enough to do. It was rough the weeks I had jury duty but otherwise I'm earning extra $$ when I'd be sitting here anyway.

@NJChicaa I can't stand jury duty. I have done a bit of tutoring and enjoyed it. I am nibbling on my mango and getting ready to head to Guitar Center.

I have a friend that is a newly retired teacher. She tutors young elementary students, mostly on their reading skills. She has more students than she wants and so do the other tutors she knows. There appears to be a huge need for more tutors.

I might consider doing some tutoring on the side. I enjoy it as well.

How long is the summer break? Ireland's school year is coming to an end about the same time as yours. In Australia, the school year follows the calendar year which makes sense as schools close over the hottest part of the year.

@NJChicaa That's a nice long break. Our schools close maybe a week or two before Christmas and go back early February.
