This guy landed up at our place when we called him to do some work in the garden.
I was seeing him after a long, long time He was half his size and when questioned he told me he was unwell and was in hospital for months
He demanded that he be paid on a daily basis but I was not willing to and told him he could take it as a contract and finish the job at his leisure. I knew his logic as not being able to work as a healthy man would he would take his time and earn good
That wa his logic but I was not prepared.
I let him go When the payment is on a daily basis they take days to finish a job .

@LadyDuck They know they are in demand and can get away with such things but I will not let that happen

@allknowing - My gardener tried the same trick, I told him that I gave him a fixed amount for the job done, his problem how long it takes.

I agree... Either accept pay per job you do or contract for a certain length of time to do each job and get paid at the end of the job.

He thought he was smart Looking at him I could say he would take eons to do the job.

You made a good decision. I would do the same, given a similar situation.
