I still have a very good relationship with my ex's family--both immediate and extended. Hell I still have a good relationship with him.
There never has been anything bad between his family and me. I made a point of telling a couple of his cousins who were on my FB that he and I were divorcing and they said they still wanted to stay in touch because they liked me so much.
Anyway I sent flowers to my former mother-in-law (I usually just call her my MIL) for Mother's Day. It was 2 dozen roses in various colors. I included a message on the card but apparently I neglected to put my name.
They were delivered today.
I received a text from her during work that said: "Well good afternoon. I hope its a good one. Just after 12 and you're probably in class so I'm sorry but I had to text you and ask you if you are the one that sent me these beautiful flowers because there's a nice card that says 'happy Mother's Day to the best mother I've known. I love you and miss you' but no name. And it just sounds like something you would say. Please let me know if they're from you. They are gorgeous and I love them and I love you."
I replied that yes they were from me. She thanked me again. I'm happy that I made her smile. She deserves it because she truly is wonderful.

That's nice. I don't have anyone to wish a happy M day to... they're all 6 feet under.

I'm glad you still have a good relationship even though you and your ex are divorced.
I never met my in-laws when I was married either time... *shrug*

That was a wonderful gesture and with all those roses no wonder she was happy.
