It was when I was in Melbourne at a Mall I came across these larges Toblerone chocolates. They were being sold at a heavy discount. I grabbed some and just when I was about to pay I looked at the expiry date and saw they were beyond the expiry date.
I returned the stuff and was glad I found out about it on time As I was talking about this to someone I was told there was nothing wrong with them and that one could eat them.
Was I not disappinted

Chocolates don't go bad but they can discolor so some people won't eat them after their expiration date.
"While chocolate doesn't technically "go bad" in the sense of becoming unsafe to eat, its quality, flavor, and texture can degrade over time. Dark chocolate, especially, can last for many years if stored properly, while milk and white chocolates have shorter shelf lives. The "best by" date on chocolate packaging indicates when its flavor and texture are at their peak, not when it's unsafe to eat."

When a product is heavily discounted I suppose one would expect some quality issue but edible all the same.

@allknowing Milk chocolate is usually good for a year after the expiration date, at least, if they're stored properly.
