There was a news report on TV about death caused when a lady's hair was being washed in a Beauty Salon. The way the head is place leads to a choking or twisted neck if one is not careful. The photo shows how one's hair is washing in a Beauty Salon Every since I read about this tragic incident I have stopped going to salons. They do my hair at home and I never let them wash my hair. Do you get your hair washed in a Beauty Salon? Image credit:

If I go for a haircut they wash my hair before trimming, I never had a problem. I never have my neck too bent, you can ask to adjust the height.

@allknowing - As soon as I feel that my neck is in a too bend position I ask them to adjust the level.

@LadyDuck That means the customer should also see that no harm is done to them.

I have my hair washed at the beauty salon whenever I get a haircut or hair treatment. I believe the personnel of the salon have extensive trainings before they are allowed to handle customers. Though accidents might happen because the back part of our neck or the nape, is sensitive and if not properly handled, can cause some serious injury.

That is exactly what happened but when the customer feels uncomfortable they must bring it to the notice of the stylist.

@allknowing Yes, same ways on the part of the stylist, asking the customer if they are comfortable from time to time could also help.

It has been a long time since I’ve had my hair washed in a salon. But I’m not really worried too much about eventually getting it done again.

Pretty and I have always let hairdressers wash out hair in a salon before getting a trim or cut and have never had a problem.

@allknowing I think it must depend on how careful the hair stylist is when working with the clients.

@DaddyEvil That is exactly the reason - carelessness

They wash my hair at the salon whenever I go for a haircut, etc. I never would have thought about the position of the neck while washing. I always enjoyed getting my hair washed and said that my stylist has magic fingers.
