An AI toast to mothers

We use ChatGPT from time to time and have found it very useful and sometimes very entertaining too. It’s a free-to-use AI site. On Mothers’ Day, Vince had bought a bottle of dessert wine. He asked ChatGPT if the wine would complement brandied oranges or should we choose something else. It said it would be very acceptable. It then asked if we’d like it to come up with an appropriate toast. The toast was very acceptable but quite formal. So we asked it for something a little less formal and maybe a bit amusing. This is what we got: Here’s to Mum – the woman who taught us patience, kindness, and how to fin things that were ‘right in front of us’. To the only person who can make dessert, wine, and guilt all in one sitting. May your glass be full, your feet be up, and your children remember to call more often. Cheers to you, Mum – and to all the magic you manage without even trying!’ We thought it was a great toast, especially the bit about finding things. What do you think? The flowers are little chrysanthemums from my BIL’s garden.

The mums are beautiful and the toast is cute. If you use ChatGPT for serious things, remember that it can and will lie at times. (All of the AIs can and will lie.) Something funny, at least to me, mom used to lose her glasses all the time and would ask me to help her find them. I'd tell her to look in a mirror and she'd get mad because she was usually wearing them at the time.

We do take care to check out its findings but we've been very impressed so far. Your poor Mum!! That would be maddening. I've done it myself occasionally.

@JudyEv I think she got madder because I'd laugh afterwards than she was about losing them that way.

Those flowers are pretty They do not look little to me. I do not use Chat GPT I would rather have a toast coming form one's heart.

The chrysies grown commercially are much bigger than these but these were from the heart.

This is a great toast, I never thought to ask ChatGPT to write cards, but I will from now on.

It's fun as well as being helpful. You can give it specific diameters, ask it to tweak it a bit or include this or that. I'm still in awe of how clever it is.

O yes, nowadays its all about getting the right prompts to get the work done through chatgpt...although I wish we didn't use chatgpt for writing.

We thought it was pretty neat too. It still is mind-boggling to me how it does it.

I had to laugh at the 'finding things' bit. Vince is hopeless at finding things.

That is cute. I use Microsoft's Co-Pilot and DeepSeek from time to time. But won't ask anything serious. I ask about vitamins contain in certain foods etc.

We are aware that AI sites can get things wrong sometimes but it can give a lot of background information very quickly. It was helpful when Vince was having his operations - just to get an idea of what was happening, etc.
