I think the Istanbul invitation could be a trap for Putin

The Russian leader seems reluctant to physically attend the scheduled Istanbul meeting which aims to facilitate direct talks between him and the president of Ukraine. Obviously, he is aware that he is a wanted person by the international court of justice. I think some western countries which are perceptibly against Russia are using Zelensky’s attendance as a bait to beckon Putin into a trap, then have him locked up! Anyway, that is just my opinion. I hope the war between Russia and Ukraine ends soon. Wars deform nations in all aspects.

You are probably right and he would be more susceptible to assassination away from his own country.

I would not go, it is a too high risk to go there. European countries could try to hijack his airplane and arrest him.

@SIDIKIMPOLE - I would not be confident, I surely would not trust EU leaders.

Well, that was my thought too. He ought to be very careful with his movement

I hope the war ends soon, too. I wish that Putin would get what he deserves, but, like Trump, I doubt he will.
