I’m currently reading The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe. The novel is 685 pages long. I’m about 27% into the book. The chapters are not super long, which I prefer. I can actually finish a few chapters in one sitting. The book is not boring to me, though I will admit I found myself falling asleep when I was reading it a few days ago. Perhaps the book had nothing to do with it and it was just me being tired. Copyright of the book says 1987 so I’m assuming that’s when it was originally published. It has been republished many times since then as I see many editions of the book on Goodreads with different covers.

You have plenty of time to read it eventually. Maybe you’ll like it. Have you seen the movie?

My mom’s friend got it for me. I didn’t know it existed. I just found out that there was a movie adaptation of this book. And it stars Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith, Kim Cattrall, and Morgan Freeman.

I have heard that that is a good story. You sure like to pick long books, don't you?

Well, this one was given to me by my mom’s friend. I generally do not like very long books. Only because it takes a long time to finish.

Vince often falls asleep when he reads. I haven't read this although the title is well-known to me.

I usually don’t fall asleep when I read unless I’m very tired.
