The reliably-red state of Nebraska's capital city of Omaha has elected a Democrat for mayor of the state's largest city. John Ewing Jr. will be the first African-American mayor of the city and he beat Jean Stothert who was running to be the first woman to serve 4 terms.
The race initially focused on local issues like potholes and road conditions but eventually turned to broader national ones with Stothert accusing Ewing Jr. of supporting transgender issues (he is the city's treasurer) and Ewing Jr. spotlighting her support of Trump and Trump's endorsement of her.
Just one more example of #ETTD (everything Trump touches dies).
