My niece is 38, no more really young, but she has always enjoyed cooking and she is very good. I know she prepares everything from scratch for her two children.

@allknowing - She has a 5 year old girl and a 2 year old baby boy, she loves to cook, she has a maid to keep the house clean, that is something she does not like to do.

People younger than me say they can't afford to buy a house with the salary they make working 60 hours a week. They don't get married and don't want kids because they say they can't afford a wife and kids. *shrug*

My girls like to cook certain things (they are not keen on just making whatever is needed!) Big One enjoys baking and is really good at it. The first time she tried making macarons, for example (which are supposed to be difficult) they were perfect and no trouble at all. She likes making cakes and scones, and now she is branching out a bit more into main meals like spaghetti carbonara or honey-glazed chicken. Little One is getting a bit more into it. For a while she confined herself to peeling vegetables but recently she has been making tasty stir-fries!

But both have not taken over the kitchen in a manner that will take care of a family

I know the youngest son at our house-sit is an excellent cook but not quite so good at cleaning up afterwards.

My Grandson will be 13 next week and he does cookery at school and he loves it. He has cooked us a few things when he has come to stay at the weekends and i must say i am impressed. My favourite thing so far was the meatballs.
