The Alvord Fire Department answered an emergency call on Tuesday April 22 when a truck driving on U S Highway 287 in Wise County overturned and spilled around 8 million dimes on the highway.
Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety (TDPS) mentioned that the driver of the truck changed directions, overreacted and fell on its side.
The cleaning of picking all of the coins from the highway lasted around 14 hours.
The driver and a passenger were taken by an ambulance to a local hospital with non-threating injuries.

I believe that all of the dimes were found by the firefighters.

I am sure that the driver of the truck feels guilty about what happened.

Wow! That's a lot of dimes. I'm glad the driver and passenger were not badly hurt.
