Hot Wheels, An American Legend

Who remembers these toy model cars? They are still producing them today, which I was surprised to find out. I loved these cars and had a good few of them. I tried to interest my son in them also when he was a child and bought him a good few, sadly, they were stolen in some dump that we lived years ago. They were started in the year 1968. Did you have any and what were your favorites? Do you have any now still? I think if I remember correctly, one of my favorites was the golden Mustang and some models of the Camaros. No Barbies for me guys. Were these model cars popular in your country at all?

My cousin collected them. He had a ton of them. His dad was a car salesman, so it was a bit of a big thing with them. Now we also had both dads racing dirt track cars at one time and we got into the race cars they produced. I was more into Barbies though!

@RebeccasFarm Both of my cousins that lived next door were boys. I played cars, Batman, Army, whatever with them, but don't remember them playing dolls!

These cars became famous here as well. i was not interested but saw others keeping them and talking about them. Even now and then, we sometimes see these being offered as a Gift along with some Food Order(s).

Pretty was never interested in cars as she grew up. I only had hand-me-down toys mostly and Hot Wheels weren't part of that. I did buy a half dozen of them when I started babysitting nieces and nephews. They're still in the toy basket in the corner of the kitchen, along with some of Pretty's old dolls she didn't care if other kids played with when she outgrew them. (Most of her old toys were sent to the thrift store years and years ago.)

I do remember these although my grandson wasn't into to them much. He was into superheroes and video games. I enjoy looking at the different models of cars.
