Hello mylotters, a quick update

Hello mylotters, Hope that all is well in your myLot corner . It's 2 PM here as I write this post. Its been a cloudy day so far after a night long heavy rain. Weather is gorgeous. I am sitting in my balcony and enjoying the breeze. This is my first post after my surgery. I got my surgery done on 6th May morning and it's almost two weeks now. I am slowly recovering. My surgery was way more complicated than what was thought. Doctors knew that it was a complicated case from the very beginning, but it was uglier than what they imagined. My endometriosis was way beyond stage 4. The surgery that was supposed to be for one and half hours went for four hours. There was a lot of mass on my posterior wall and needed all scrapping. The same was with the right ovary and the wall next to it. My external stitches are healed, but the internal ones will take upto 8 weeks. I am advised to go easy and not tire myself physically till June end. I am walking slowly across the house a few times, watching TV, reading book, doing some easy chores like cutting vegetables, folding clothes etc while sitting and watching TV. My mom is here, my daughters are here too as it's holiday time. My mom is taking good care of my diet and I could easily recover the blood loss during surgery with her nursing and healthy food. Though I have enough free time, I am trying to stay away from screen as much as possible. I don't want to strain my eyes. Also, I am spending more time with my family. I have sent request for medical leave in June and it has been accepted. The school reopens after summer vacation in June. Bur I will go back to work in July. I also sent messages to parents and students that I will resume my afternoon therapy sessions from July. That's the update from my side. Hope that all us well in your myLot corner. Take care.

Thanks for your wishes. I know that we always want to rest, but it's not fun to rest when sick. We want to get back to our normal life. I am giving priority to my health in the present. Once I am fully recovered and strong, things will be better. I am very positive that my quality of life will be much better after this surgery. I hope that you have a good week too. And you get some help soon, you really need that. Take care.

I saw this discussion of yours earlier also but somehow I could not make it in time to respond. Thank God that your surgery went fine. The word surgery itself can make one sweat! Looks like your surgeons did a good job in a tricky surgery. I would rather say that you can even take 2 months off rather than just one and get recovered even better. It could be tough to be away from Screen - Mobile or Laptop but I suppose that you would have to do it for your health. And since the last one month, I was glued to something else. Something that our whole nation was keyed in to. Plus with my sense of nationalism, I got over engaged in a lot of content reading and watching. Now I am trying to scale back. On some places onsite, I even wrote about the events and with a few folks, it could have gone into an endless spiral of heated debate but I kind of stayed away. Anyways, again best of wishes from my side and best of health, wealth and happiness to you and your family !

@arunima25 I hope that you start your work in comfortable sitting and with all the precautions. Rushing would not help. Of late, we also have had some health issues at home and well, OPD and medicine bills have shot up. Kids' tuitions too take up a lot of money. Hopefully, the cook would come in handy although (and do not take it too seriously), some cooks cause some headache as they can sometimes be stubborn. Plus their sense of hygiene can sometimes be a negative factor. Best of wishes again. And well, I did had a discussion on this site as well, where a person seemed to be taking just one side and should at least have acknowledged the bias. I did not argue beyond a point, and now I would be desisting from more such discussions at least here. Good Night and have a great week ahead!

The surgery was on 6 May. So, it's been a month. Recovery is on track. School has started from last week. But I am off till June end . So, that would make complete 2 months of leave. But yes, I am having a couple of webinars to attend after 15 June. That should be fine as I can do it while sitting in a comfortable position. And two online meetings with some new parents who have joined the School with their special needs children. That's all for professional commitments. Mom left yesterday and I am already missing her. I have employed a cook for three months to take off a major part of load. And also given dishwashing duty to my household help. We did it earlier, kitchen chores were exclusive for family, but not anymore for coming few months. I might extend it. Mom has trained them well. I know what you are talking about. I avoid such discussions. I am patriotic and for my mental peace I stay away from people who are pseudo liberals and pseudo intellectuals. I call them people full of crap who thrive on negative propaganda

@arunima25 You're very welcome. Still making you work, even if it's only online, doesn't sound very considerate of them to me. If you're off work because of surgery, then you shouldn't be doing any work at all.

@DaddyEvil The online work doesn't involve children or any physical strain. It's just meeting parents and children twice a week at my convenience and giving them the guidance and program to carry on in my absence. This plan is for July, if I still have the need to rest more. June is a complete holiday.

I am thankful that they were able to complete all of the work during the operation. In time, and with the great assistance of your family, you will begin to feel better and stronger. When we lose so much blood such as you have, it literally takes weeks or sometimes months, to regain our strength completely. I know as I have been there, be patient and kind to your body.

@arunima25 Building back your body from loss of blood is a slow process. Rest and foods/drinks conducive to rebuilding that hemoglobin are necessary. I used to try to eat liver, as much as I disliked the taste, it did help.
